Let the Digital Sunshine!

Today I’m launching Digital Sunshine Solutions. This is a consulting firm focused on providing services for Product Strategy, Community Strategy, and a way to help people become Digitally Literate.

Why Digital Sunshine

I’m originally from Florida, where we have Sunshine Laws. The intention of these laws is to “shine sunshine” on all the meetings that happen as the lawmaking process happens. By publishing all communications of public officials, it shines sunshine on them and they can’t participate in shady backroom deals. It all gets put on the table for everyone to see, keeps people from working in the shadows.

That’s the mission of Digital Sunshine Solutions. We plan to work across three domains: Product Strategy, Community Strategy, and Digital Literacy.

Product Strategy

Product strategy encompasses many elements, from market placement research, competitive analysis, messaging development to tactical things such as sales enablement and content creation. Whether you need a strategy to take a new product to market, or help writing and editing content, we’d like to help!

Community Strategy

Strong communities help you build better products. However building real community, with the social bonding that leads to better product development, isn’t a matter of creating a slack channel, hiring a dev evangelist, and printing out cool stickers.

We can help you build a community that facilitates better product strategy.

Digital Literacy

We live in a time when any person on the planet can create digital content. But we’re rediscovering that not everyone has their fellow citizen’s best interest at heart.

Digital literacy (according to the American Library Association’s digital-literacy task force is “the ability to use information and communication technologies to find, evaluate, create, and communicate information, requiring both cognitive and technical skill”.

A critical component is the ability to understand who is creating the content we consume, and how that content got in front of our eyes in the first place.

We intend to create learning materials to help people understand how the platforms that deliver digital content actually work, along with ways to evaluate digital content. We hope you join us in this effort!

Let’s work together!

If you’re interested in any of these elements, please reach out via this form or LinkedIn. We’d love to work with you. Let’s spread the sunshine around to make it a little easier for everyone.
